We ask your consent before collecting personally identifiable information.

When you visit this site or use services directly provided by us, we will not collect any information that allows us to uniquely identify you as an individual person unless you voluntarily supply it. If you supply it, our primary purpose for collecting the information is to provide you with the products, services and support you request, personalized whenever applicable.

If you use CANDI “PowerTools” device and data management software in conjunction with a 3rd party service or application, with your affirmative consent the 3rd party may in some cases share your email address, account identifier and/or customer energy usage data (CEUD) with CANDI in order to provide our services. If CEUD is shared, the CEUD is de-identified before it is transmitted to us. The 3rd party service or application provider does not share any other personal information with us. If you wish, you can provide additional information such as a site address or zip code to correlate geo-location, local weather or other additional information as part of our services or 3rd party services.

We will not spam you.

We will not send you unsolicited offers to buy our or other companies’ products and services if you do not want them. We do occasionally send notifications about the status or operation of your account or services which we believe are important for you to be aware of.

We will never share your personally identifiable information without your permission.

We will never sell, rent or share your personally identifiable information or CEUD with a 3rd party without your express permission, unless required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request and to any third party with your prior consent to do so. Our partner companies cannot personally identify you unless you choose to receive services they provide indirectly or directly through us, or otherwise choose to interact with them.

However, we may share your personally identifiable information with other businesses, affiliates, contractors or business partners in order for them to perform services for us. For example, your personally identifiable information may be shared with contractors we use to provide technical support or fulfillment services, or with financial institutions for purposes of billing and payment.

Additionally, in the interest of improving our products and services, we may collect and aggregate anonymous, non-personally identifiable information provided during your use of our products or services. We may combine your non-personally identifiable information with other similar information from other individuals to produce anonymous, aggregated, and statistical data. Aggregated and statistical data does not include personally identifiable information. We use this aggregated and statistical data (such as the percentage of users from certain geographies, power consumption averages by region, or diagnostic trends for certain products) to improve our product offerings and the content of our sites or services. We also may share this anonymous aggregated or statistical data, which does not identify particular individuals, with our partners or other third parties.

We protect your personal information from unauthorized access.

We follow industry-standard best practices to protect your personal information. This includes requiring a username and password to log in, requiring passwords that are not easily guessed, and making sure that communications between your computer/device and our data center use commercial-grade encryption. We do not store your password, and in the event you forget your password we will send a link to your email address of record with a special code that ensures only you have clicked on the link to reset your password. Further, we ensure that password reset links expire after a short period of time. Our web site uses SSL and/or TSL technology to protect the transmission of your password and any personally identifiable information.

We use additional safeguards to prevent access to our servers, including intrusion detection algorithms and denial-of-service detection. We regularly apply security enhancements to our servers, to keep current with ongoing enhancements in network security and data privacy. We treat your personal information with the same level of sensitivity as credit cards, and have adopted the Payment Card Institute (PCI) standards as our security model. Our service is regularly scanned by third party organizations to ensure compliance with known safeguards and to verify that known security threats are protected against.

You have control over your account and personally identifiable information.

If your account is directly with CANDI, you can update your account information and preferences at any time by accessing your account page within our PowerTools software. You can cancel your account and delete your personal information whenever you choose, pursuant to the terms of your contract with CANDI, by contacting us at from your email address of record, requesting deletion of your account. When you choose to cancel and delete your account, if your account balance is current, you have the option to delete your personally identifiable information from our live system. If you choose to delete your personally identifiable information, you will permanently void our ability and obligation to service and support your account, warranties, and all other products, services and transactions you may have made with us. Your account records will remain archived as an anonymous listing for purposes of our operational data and financial records, or otherwise archived offline as required by law. Some of your personally identifiable information may still exist in our backup files and log entries for a while, but over the course of our normal maintenance activity it will be erased.

If you use CANDI PowerTools software, you may access your account and update information about your account while using the application by accessing your profile. If you would like us to delete your personal data, CEUD and account information that we hold about you please send an inquiry using the contact information listed below. If you would like to access, edit or delete your account information or personal data with a 3rd party service provider, please contact your provider separately to request a change or removal for the personal data they hold about you with them.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may have separate agreements with other companies that use our technology.

You may separately enter into agreements with, or use services provided by, 3rd party companies that use CANDI technology, in which case those companies’ agreements or privacy policies govern their treatment of your personally identifiable information. For example, if you have an account with an energy company or a solutions provider, your agreement with that company may authorize them to send you emails, messages and marketing opportunities, or gather usage and analytical data via various methods, some of which may involve CANDI technology. CANDI’s privacy policy does not apply to those third-party agreements or services.

Our web site also includes links to other web sites whose privacy practices may differ from those of CANDI. If you submit personally identifiable information to any of those web sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any web site you visit.

We may collect the following information:

Contact and Support: email contact address, login id, zip code, system setup information, IP address. This information helps us authorize you as a customer, enable your system to operate, and allow for 3rd party support and diagnostics.

Usage data: number of logins, last login, activity and error logs, information about devices and data points provisioned per site, equipment and system usage statistics. This data helps us monitor the operation and health of our website and your local system. They also help us diagnose errors and solve technical issues. If you are participating in a service or program provided by a third party, this data may also be shared under agreement with that 3rd party.

Optional information: name, site name and address, contact phone numbers. This information is optional. It helps us link you to the products and services which you use, and gather aggregated demographic information.

We may use cookies and log page visits

When you use one of our web sites, it may send a cookie to your computer containing an identification number that is unique to the computer you are using and the current browsing session. We use this cookie to provide you with a seamless user experience on the website. The cookie also helps us understand how our web site is being used.

As is done with most web sites, we log each visit to our web pages.
